Changing blogger favicon isn't that essential. By the way what is favicon? what they also call button. Blogger button
Favicon is just that small blogger logo beside that search box above. I can't explain bloggers' desire on just removing all but no vestiges of Blogger on their page. Then, i now ask, what about '.blogspot.com' ?
Anyway, since you are bent on killing every bit of blogger particle on your article, i should be after teaching you how.
Many times, bloggers get so frustrated getting this thing perfectly(designing of favicon) that they just go for an already made one that simply has nothing about their blog integrated in it.
RULES
1. An image fit for favicon must be rectangular in shape.
2. Favicons are characteristically 6x6 pixel
3.(optional) it should be your pages' symbol, that is made your favicon if you must have one. Also remember that this symbol must also be on your header? Sure, this last rule is not for every blogger, it's for professional bloggers, not that everybody cannot do it; it's just that only professionals appreciate the aura it gives to have every thing about your page agreeing in form and colour

Just lift off your blogger logo to either picmonkey.com ( i doubt 6x6 pixel images are edited free on picmonkey) or Picasa and create the stuff.

Add the file to picasa. Click on the logo once to select without opening the image and immediately point at 'Create' on the horizontal tool bar up the screen.It will drop down, select collage. Another window will open carrying the logo along.Beside your logo on the now picture collage section that's open, is the default pixel( the pixel at which the open picture collage bar edited your logo, that's not what you want, you need to enter your 6x6 pixel). Ok. just click on that pixel, on the left side of that section and scroll down to the end. You will see Add Custom Aspect Ratio......yes, just select. A small dialogue box will emerge instantly asking you to enter dimension. Just type 6x6 and click ok. Then Create Collage. You are done with making a favicon. If it takes you to image editor,please return and add nothing,unless you so want to still get creative

3. Point your cursor at favicon,at the left end side of the layout upwardly and click edit
4. You should see ' choose file' select it and choose the favicon you created
5. Done
6.Remember to ''Save Arrangement'' after every activity in the layout
